Drought conditions are now affecting fishing. Anyone planning a trip to fish the Shubenacadie River will have those plans dashed. Fisheries and Oceans Canada says the closure begins at the outflow of Grand Lake to the Highway 102 bridge in Shubenacadie East. The department says low water levels can cause fish to become stranded or found in high concentrations, which can result in unsustainable fishing pressure.
