The 35th annual Nova Scotia Folk Art Festival is taking place at the Lunenburg War Memorial Arena on Sunday August 3rd, 2025, 12 noon to 4pm.
The Nova Scotia Folk Art Festival is a juried event showcasing the art of over 40 Nova Scotian Folk Artists who work in wood, metal, fibre, paint, pencil and paper. This festival has grown from 20 artists in a field in Blockhouse in 1989 to 50 plus participants in recent years. This year marks the 35th anniversary of the festival with 42 returning artists and 8 artists bringing their work to the festival for the first time.
The poster artist this year is fibre artist Felicia Zwicker from Bayport, NS. Felicia has designed and hooked a magnificent piece with 100% wool on linen. She calls her “Lucy”. The original artwork will be auctioned at the festival during the course of the afternoon. [photo attached]
